DYNAMO Final Dissemination Event

On Friday, January 16, 2026, the final event to present the results of the DYNAMO research project was held with great success in the presence of interested members and companies operating in the energy sector. For the successful implementation of the project, Electi Consulting Ltd and Frederick Research Center collaborated. The event marked the completion of the technical implementation and pilot application of an innovative decentralized energy management platform. The focus of the presentation was the possibility of creating “smart contracts” with blockchain technology, which allowed the exchange of energy between homes with an energy surplus and homes with an energy deficit. During the event, the project partners presented the findings from the pilot evaluation of the platform, which was based on real consumption and production data from residential photovoltaic systems. Specifically:

  • It was analyzed how the use of machine learning technology can help in predicting end-user energy production and consumption at the community microgrid level.
  •  At the same time, the innovation of creating Smart Contracts based on Blockchain technology was presented, which allow for the automated and secure execution of transactions between users without the need for intermediaries.
  •  It was reported that the combination of these two technologies led to optimal energy management and an analysis of real data was presented through which the reduction in the cost of bills for the participants in the pilot program was demonstrated, as well as the benefits that can arise in the electrical system more broadly.
  • Finally, the results of the platform evaluation were presented, which demonstrated high levels of usability, user experience and user satisfaction, based on the responses of the survey participants.
The system demonstrated that it can automate exchanges in a transparent and secure manner. It was particularly emphasized that all procedures implemented during the pilot phase were aligned with the regulations and policies of the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC). As a final conclusion, DYNAMO highlighted innovative solutions and new perspectives for smart, collaborative and more sustainable renewable energy communities in Cyprus.
